Notice of Adjustment on Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test Requirements for Passengers Departing from New Zealand to China

In the aim of enhancing the measurement of infection prevention and control, and  ensuring the health and safety of passengers to China, based on the requirements set by the relevant Chinese authorities and in conjunction with the current situation in New Zealand, starting from 0:00, 10 May 2022, the time frame for the last COVID-19 PCR test will be changed and a supervised Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) will be introduced as part of the Pre-departure test. The requirements are:

1. Passengers flying to China after 0:00, 10 May 2022, the last COVID-19 PCR test according to the requirement of Two COVID-19 PCR tests or COVID-19 PCR and IgM Antibody test, must be administered after 3pm local time, on the day before boarding China-bound flight. Other testing requirements remain unchanged. You can find more information and book your tests through the link https://testtotravel.co.nz/.

2. Passengers flying to China after 0:00, 10 May 2022, a supervised Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) is required and must be administered after 9am local time, on the same day of the scheduled China-bound flight. A test report must be provided when requesting for the health code, and it must be issued by a clinic or pharmacy authorised by the Ministry of Health of New Zealand. To reduce the risk of infection while going out, please choose a visual supervised RAT test. Details can be found through the link https://www.healthpoint.co.nz/community-health-services/community-health/covid-19-video-supervised-pre-travel-test/.

3. To avoid delays in your travel, please request the health code from the Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in New Zealand, in accordance with the consular jurisdiction as soon as when all required documents are ready. Please make the request no later than 7pm on the same day of your scheduled flight.

4. It is still recommended to avoid all non-essential and non-urgent travels. If you must travel to China, please make sure you carry out closed-loop management before travel, andentera self-isolation after completingyour pre-departure tests, take good protection, wearing masks and eyes protection  during the journey, and avoid going to crowdedandconfinedplacesandreducetheriskofcrossinfection.
