Notice of Adjustments of Consular Services

According to the current epidemic situation of COVID-19 in New Zealand, the Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy has made the following adjustments:

1. Normal opening hours in the morning will be resumed.

From 15 March 2021 on, the Consular Section (4 Halswell St, Thorndon, Wellington) will be open to the public from 9am to 11:30am Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

2. Telephone Q&A hours will be extended.

From 15 March 2021 on, our consular enquiry line, 04 473 3514, will be answered from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 3pm on working days. The enquiries beyond these hours will be answered by the automated enquiry system.

3. Consular services

(1) Passports and Travel Documents

The requirements for applying for passports and travel documents remain unchanged. Please first make an appointment through the following website (https://ppt.mfa.gov.cn/app), then drop off the documents required in person at the time of appointment. (2) Visas

Visa applicants are required to complete visa application forms online and make an appointment online for visa submission and fingerprint collection in person at our office.
