Ambassador Wang Lutong Attends the Cook Islands' Constitution Day - 50th Anniversary Celebration

On the 3rd to the 6th of August, Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand and the Cook Islands, Mr Wang Lutong visited the Cook Islands. The Ambassador represented China at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Cook Islands' Constitution Day (National Day).

   

During his visit, Ambassador Wang met with the Prime Minister of the Cook Islands Henry Puna and forwarded a congratulatory message from President Xi Jinping to the Queen's Representative, Mr Tom Marsters. Both sides agreed that China-Cook Islands relations have steadily developed since the establishment of diplomatic ties. Exchanges and cooperation continued to expand between the two countries, with mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples continuing to deepen.

   

Ambassador Wang, together with Cook Islands' dignitaries and representatives from various countries watched a 'Pacific Celebration' show performed by a Shenzhen art troupe. Ambassador Wang also attended a ceremony to announce an assistance project for Apii Nikao Primary School, met with staff from Chinese enterprises in the Cook Islands, inspected CCECC's progress on the construction of the tripartite water project and visited a South China Fisheries Company vessel berthed at the Port. Commercial Counsellor Mr Zhang Fan and Political Director Mr Zhang Wei accompanied the Ambassador on his visit.
