China-Pacific Islands Forum Dialogue Special Envoy Du Qiwen visits Niue

From July 11 to 14, H.E. Du Qiwen, China-Pacific Islands Forum Dialogue Special Envoy, led a delegation to visit Niue. During his visit, Special Envoy Du met with Hon Billy Talagi, Acting Premier of Niue, and Hon Dalton Tagelagi, Minister for Ministry of Natural Resources, Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries and Environment, respectively. Special Envoy Du also held meetings with Niue's Roading Committee and the personnel of Niue National Central Hospital, and attended the welcoming banquet held by Acting Premier Billy Talagi.

Special Envoy Du noted that China regards Niue as a good friend and partner in the South Pacific region. China is willing to work with Niue to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries in order to scale new heights in bilateral relations through strengthening exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in all fields.

Acting Premier Billy Talagi spoke highly of the relationship and pragmatic cooperation between Niue and China, appreciating the efforts towards bilateral relations and the importance attached by China to this end. Niue is willing to work with China to further expand exchanges in various fields, strengthening local exchanges and cooperation to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations.
