Ambassador Wang Lutong and his wife visit Niue

On 9-12 August, Ambassador Wang Lutong and his wife paid a visit to Niue. During this visit, Ambassador Wang met with the Acting Premier of Niue, Hon. Dalton Tagelagi; the Acting Minister for the Central and Commercial Agencies, Hon. Joan Viliamu; the Acting Secretary to Government, Peleni Talagi. Ambassador Wang also met with New Zealand's High Commissioner to Niue, Mr Ross Ardern.

Ambassador Wang noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Niue. Over the past 10 years, this bilateral relationship has been developing smoothly with pragmatic cooperation progressing in various fields. China appreciates Niue's adherence to the one China policy and is willing to work with Niue to organise celebration activities for the 10th anniversary. The two sides can take this event as an opportunity to further advance bilateral relations.

Mr Tagelagi noted that the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is an important moment in the history of Niue-China relations and Niue is looking forward to the celebration. Niue is deeply grateful for the selfless assistance China has rendered to Niue over the years. At no time will Niue deviate from the one China policy, and Niue is willing to work with China to further advance bilateral relations and pragmatic cooperation in various fields to achieve fruitful results for the benefit of the two peoples.
