Statement by the Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand on Taiwan Question

2022-10-08 07:30

The status of Taiwan is clear: There is only one China in the world,Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China.

The One-China principle is a consensus of the international community and is also the political foundation of China-New Zealand relations. The Chinese side appreciates the New Zealand government's firm commitment to the One-China policy.

Any attempt to separate Taiwan from China or pursue "Taiwan Independence" is doomed, and the external forces that attempt to facilitate or support such a separatist stance will end in failure.
