HE Ambassador Wang Xiaolong meets with Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney

On June 21, HE Ambassador Wang Xiaolong met with Ms Trista Lim, Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney, the representative office of the Government of  Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR)for both Australia and New Zealand, and her entourage in Wellington. They exchanged views on the trade and economic cooperation between the HKSAR and New Zealand and the successful practice of “one country, two systems”principle in the HKSAR. 

Amb Wang emphasized that the successful practice of “one country, two systems ” in the HKSAR provided a fundamental guarantee for the stability and prosperity of the HKSAR and its external engagement. Under the auspices and generous support of the Central Government, the future of the HKSAR will only be better. The Chinese Embassy in New Zealand will remain committed to backing up the office in its work in New Zealand, upholding the legitimate rights of the HKSAR compatriots in New Zealand, and supporting the exchanges and cooperation in areas like trade, economic, and tourism between the HKSAR and New Zealand.

According to Director Lim, this year marks the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. It is with the generous support of the Central Government that the HKSAR has restored order, further improving business environment, rebooting the economy, and expanding international trade and people-to-people exchanges. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has also opened up a grand vista for the HKSAR. Director Lim thanked the Embassy and pledged to work closely with the Embassy to promote the exchanges and cooperation between the HKSAR and New Zealand.
