Ambassador Wang Xiaolong attends the ceremony to celebrate the Resumption of Sichuan Airlines’ Chengdu-Auckland Route

On 17 April, a ceremony welcoming the resumption of Sichuan Airlines’ Chengdu-Auckland Route was held at the Auckland International Airport. Hon Huang Qiang, Governor of Sichuan Province, led a delegation to New Zealand and attended this ceremony event. Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong, Director of MFAT Auckland Office Rachel Maidment and more than 50 representatives attended the event.

Governor Huang Qiang said in his remarks that the resumption of Sichuan Airlines is of great significance to deepening national and sub-national cooperation between China and New Zealand. It will create new momentum of people-to-people exchanges, explore new space for economic and trade cooperation, and bring about new opportunities for shared development.

Ambassador Wang extended warm welcome to the delegation led by Governor Huang Qiang, and said that practical cooperation is a vital pillar for the sound and steady development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and New Zealand.The resumption of Sichuan Airlines’ Chengdu-Auckland Route surely bring more and greater development opportunities to both countries.
