On November 28, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong met with Dr. Brent Clothier FRSNZ, the winner of Chinese Government’s Friendship Award, former President of Royal Society of New Zealand (RSNZ) and Principal Scientist of Plant & Food Research. Dame Jane Harding, President of RSNZ and Mr. Paul Atkins, Chief Executive of RSNZ as well as Minister Counsellor Xie Yongjun and Counsellor Gu Min from the Embassy participated in the meeting.

Ambassador Wang spoke highly of Dr. Clothier's efforts over the years to promote science and technology exchange between China and NZ and encouraged him to continue to make new contributions to promoting cooperation in the field of horticultural and agricultural science and friendship between the two peoples.

The two sides exchanged views on China-NZ research cooperation, scientists exchanges and practical cooperation.
