Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand Responds to Media Inquiry on China-Cook Islands Relations

On February 7, the Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand responded to a media inquiry regarding relations between China and the Cook Islands. The Spokesperson stated that China and the Cook Islands have maintained high-level engagements and interactions across various levels. China will release further updates on this matter in due course.  

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 28 years ago, China and the Cook Islands have always respected each other, treated each other as equals, and pursued common development. This has not only brought tangible benefits to both countries and their peoples but also contributed to regional stability, development, and prosperity.China is willing to work together with the Cook Islands to deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, strengthen multilateral coordination,  so as to support the Cook Islands in achieving sustainable development, and advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
