On October 20, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong met with the Prime Minister of Niue, Hon. Dalton Tagelagi in Niue during the celebrations for Constitution Day. He conveyed President Xi Jinping's verbal message of congratulations on the 50th anniversary of Niue's Constitution and delivered a congratulatory letter from Premier Li Qiang. The two sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

On October 21, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong and Prime Minister Tagelagi jointly attended the handover ceremony for the Chinese-funded Niue Ring Road upgrade project. The event gathered Niue cabinet ministers, members of parliament, project staff, representatives from other diplomatic missions, and local media.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Tagelagi emphasized that the road project has greatly improved Niue's infrastructure, benefiting the country's economic development and the well-being of its people. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for China's support and contributions, noting that China is a trustworthy partner and a genuine friend.

Ambassador Wang highlighted that the successful completion of the project was a product of collaborative efforts from both sides. He characterized the initiative as a compelling example of practical cooperation and a milestone in the enduring friendship between the two nations. Wang expressed optimism for further strengthening of ties to better serve the interests of both peoples. He and the Prime Minister jointly signed the certificate of handover for the road project.


On the same morning, they also participated in a handover ceremony for government vehicles and the upgrade of broadcasting equipment funded by China. Ambassador Wang took the opportunity to engage in an interview with the local media.
