On June 10, Second Secretary He Lin and Third Secretary Feng Jingxi visited SCOTS College in Wellington. They joined a Year 12 economics class to engage in an interactive discussion with teachers and students on topics such as China's foreign trade development and China–New Zealand economic and trade cooperation.

He Lin and Feng Jingxi gave an overview of the development and current situation of China’s foreign economic and trade cooperation, as well as the achievements of China-New Zealand economic and trade relations. They noted that since the launch of reform and opening up, China has made magnificent economic and social achievements through embracing globalization, continuously expanding its openness to the outside world, and actively engaging in economic and trade cooperation with countries around the globe. China’s economic growth has also brought about great opportunities for the world.

They pointed out that the world economy is currently facing challenges posed by unilateralism and protectionism. As participants, contributors, and defenders of the current international system and order, both China and New Zealand support multilateralism and free trade. The facts and figures of bilateral cooperation across various sectors demonstrate that the  relationship between the two countries is mutually beneficial. China is willing to work closely with New Zealand to create more opportunities and well-being for both peoples.

He and Feng also interacted with students and teachers on topics such as brands and products from both countries, as well as China–New Zealand cooperation in education, tourism, and other people-to-people exchanges. The class said that the exchange enhanced mutual understanding, and increased their confidence in the future cooperation between China and New Zealand.
