On August 9th, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong was invited to attend the Massey University China Alumni 2025 Gala Dinner held in Auckland and delivered a speech. New Zealand Education Minister Hon Erica Stanford sent a video message, and more than 150 attendees, including New Zealand National Party MP Nancy Lu, Palmerston North Mayor Grant Smith, Massey University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Tere McGonagle-Daly, and alumni representatives, participated in this event.

Ambassador Wang congratulated the alumni association on its significant development in recent years, and noted that under the strategic guidance of leaders of China and New Zealand, bilateral relations continue to deepen, with fruitful outcomes in trade cooperation, vigorous development of educational exchanges, and increasingly strong people-to-people ties. He expressed hope that the alumni association would continue to achieve growth, and encouraged its members to draw on their knowledge of both Chinese and Western cultures to foster mutual understanding, promote pragmatic exchanges and cooperation, and jointly advance the steady and healthy development of China-New Zealand relations.
