On March 19, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong attended the Cullen Breakfast and delivered a keynote speech. The event was joined by nearly 200 participants, including the former New Zealand Ambassadors to China, members of strategic institutions, representatives of the diplomatic corps, and secondary school students in Wellington.

In his speech, Ambassador Wang introduced China’s views on the current international situation, elaborated on the significance and specific paths of China’s efforts to build a community with a shared future for humanity and implement the four global initiatives amidst the accelerating transformations across the world unseen in a century. Ambassador Wang systematically introduced the core essence of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the broad opportunities it brings to the world, pointing out that the common interests of China and New Zealand far outweigh the differences, and that the two sides should work together to contribute to world peace, stability, and prosperity.
Ambassador Wang also engaged in interactive discussions with the audience on topics such as the Middle East situation, the Ukraine issue, China’s nuclear policy, and the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Cullen Breakfast Club is a high-end dialogue platform in New Zealand, which has hosted the Prime Minister, cabinet ministers, leaders from business and various industries as speakers.
