Ambassador Wangxiaolong and Consul General He Ying visit Marlborough District

On April 27, Ambassador Wang Xiaolong and Consul General He Ying visited Marlborough District, and met with Mayor Nadine Taylor and Neil Henry, Strategic Management Manager of the District Council.

Ambassador Wang gained an in-depth understanding of the current development of Marlborough’s wine industry and its exports to China. He encouraged local wineries to further strengthen brand building, market promotion, and talent exchange with China. The Chinese Embassy and Consulate General are willing to facilitate connections and contribute to deepening practical cooperation between China and New Zealand, bringing more tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.

Mayor Taylor warmly welcomed Ambassador Wang and Consul General He, noting that Marlborough attaches great importance to its relationship with China. She expressed willingness to build on the sister-city relationship to deepen practical cooperation in winemaking, education, tourism, and related fields. 

Ambassador Wang and Consul General He visited Saint Clair Winery accompanied by Mayor Taylor, and held discussions with Mr Shen Yang, Estate Director of Cloudy Bay.
