On 3 July, the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand hosted a screening of the film Dear You in Wellington. Ambassador Wang Xiaolong attended and delivered remarks. Over 700 guests were present, including representatives from the local Chinese community and Chinese students.

Ambassador Wang expressed that the film has grossed over 1.9 billion yuan at the global box office, resonating profoundly across the Chinese communities worldwide. With "Qiaopi" (overseas Chinese remittance letters) as its narrative thread, the film vividly portrays the profound sense of family and national identity of overseas Chinese—their deep attachment to homeland, commitment to kinship and integrity, and spirit of mutual support. It also captures the unyielding resilience of the Chinese nation, and the deep-rooted love overseas Chinese bear for their homeland. The Embassy remains deeply committed to every member of the Chinese community and overseas student, and will continue to uphold the principle of "diplomacy for the people," dedicated to serving overseas compatriots and safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests. Ambassador Wang encouraged all attendees to take inspiration from the film, serve as bridges for China–New Zealand friendship, and actively support and contribute to Chinese path to modernization.

The audience was deeply moved by the film and responded enthusiastically.
