On 2 September, the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand hosted a screening reception in Wellington for the documentary "Seven Days in Xizang," filmed by New Zealand journalist Andy Boreham. Ambassador Wang Xiaolong attended and delivered remarks, with more than 100 guests present, including representatives from the local political, business, academic and media sectors, as well as the overseas Chinese community.

Ambassador Wang first extended condolences to those killed or missing, and to their families, in the recent landslide disaster at the Gyirong Port in Xizang.
Ambassador Wang said that "Seven Days in Xizang" offers an authentic portrayal of the diverse facets of Xizang society and everyday life, told through the eyes of ordinary people. Xizang has been an inseparable part of China's territory since ancient times, renowned for its magnificent landscapes and profound historical heritage. People of all ethnic groups there have worked diligently to build a better life with their own hands. The development and transformation of Xizang is a vivid microcosm of China's development in the new era, and the happy lives of Xizang's people of all ethnic groups stand as powerful testimony to stability and prosperity in China's border regions and to ethnic unity and harmony.
Andy Boreham shared his personal reflections and firsthand observations from filming in Xizang, and engaged in an exchange with guests at the event.
