On October 25, Minister-Counselor Xie Yongjun, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of China in New Zealand, attended and addressed the 100th Anniversary Celebration Dinner of the Tung Jung Association of New Zealand.

Conveying warm congratulations on behalf of the Embassy, Minister-Counselor Xie reflected on his visit to the historic early Chinese settlement in Arrowtown, honoring the century-long legacy of the pioneers who laid the foundation for the Association in 1926. He also commended the Association for serving as a sanctuary of dignity and warmth for the community, while highlighting its supportive fundraising efforts during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Noting that the celebration coincided with the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration, he characterized the occasion as a double celebration of victory and reunion, and encouraged the Association to carry forward the spirit of Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

Reaffirming that the Embassy remains a "home away from home" for the local Chinese community, Minister-Counselor Xie expressed his hope that the Tung Jung Association will continue to preserve Chinese traditional heritage, foster community cohesion, and serve as a vital bridge of friendship between China and New Zealand into its next "Grand Century."
