非常高兴在春节期间和何颖总领事一道出席今天的论坛活动。首先请允许我借此机会，向各位来宾致以马年新春的美好祝福，给大家拜年了！
It is my great pleasure to attend today’s forum together with Consul General He Ying during the Chinese New Year Celebrations. First of all, please allow me to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to all the distinguished guests and to wish everyone a happy New Year of the Horse.
我们正处在前所未有的时代！过去的一年，国际形势风云变幻，世界百年未有之大变局正加速演进。国际秩序遭受严重冲击。越来越多的国家都深刻认识到，只有坚持共商共建共享，世界才能实现和平繁荣与持久发展。
We are living in unprecedented times! Over the past year, the international landscape has been marked by profound changes. We are witnessing accelerating changes globally unseen in a century. The international order as we know it is facing major challenges. Against this backdrop, a growing number of countries have come to recognize that only by working together for shared benefits can we achieve peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
过去的一年，中国经济顶压前行、向新向优，以强大韧性和充沛活力为世界提供支撑，以更高水平对外开放包括单边开放与世界分享机遇。中国仍然是世界经济增长的主要引擎，并且已经成为克服当前困境的重要支柱。
Over the past year, despite mounting economic pressure, China has pushed forward with innovation-led, high-quality development. And in this process, China has provided underpinning for the world economy with its strong resilience and dynamism, and shared opportunities with the world through higher-standard opening up, including opening up done unilaterally. China has remained a major engine for global growth, and has become a major pillar for what is needed to overcome the current predicament.
过去的一年，中新关系得以在复杂国际环境中蓬勃发展。两国高层交往密切，拉克森总理访华、中国全国人大常委会委员长赵乐际访新都取得了圆满成功。经贸务实合作成果丰硕，库克海峡渡轮签约，“南联”航线开通，双边贸易额再创历史新高。中新全面战略伙伴关系第二个十年开局良好。
Over the past year, China-New Zealand relations have continued to grow steadily amid global uncertainty. High-level exchanges have remained close and productive, highlighted by the successful visit of Prime Minister Luxon to China and the visit to New Zealand by Chairman Zhao Leji of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. Practical cooperation between our two countries has yielded tangible results, including the signing of the Cook Strait ferry contract and the launch of the Southern Link initiative. Bilateral trade has reached a new historic high in 2025. The second decade of the China–New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has thus gotten off to a strong start.
2026年是“十五五”开局之年。“十五五”规划是中国发展的新蓝图，也是中国与包括新西兰在内的世界各国合作共赢的新愿景。中国将继续坚持创新、绿色发展，坚持高水平对外开放，持续向世界释放超大规模市场红利，引领全球开放合作潮流、对冲脱钩封闭逆流。在这一过程中，我们依靠自身的稳定性、一致性和可预测性来对抗日益困扰这个世界的不确定性和不可预测性。
The year of 2026 marks the opening year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. The Plan is the new blueprint for China’s development and offers a new vision for the win-win cooperation between China and countries around the world including New Zealand. China will adhere to high-standard opening up, continue to share the benefits of its mega market with the rest of the world, and lead the trend of global openness and broad-based cooperation to counter decoupling and isolation.
In this process, we are counting on our own stability, consistency and predictability to fight the uncertainty and unpredictability that increasingly pesters this world.
作为2026年亚太经合组织东道主，我们将与各经济体加强沟通、密切协调，合力推进亚太共同体建设，让亚太地区继续走在世界开放合作的前列。
As the host to APEC 2026, we will strengthen communication and coordination with member economies to jointly advance the building of an Asia-Pacific community for common prosperity. We will energize and explore pathways to ensure that this region continues to lead the world in openness and cooperation.
新的一年，中新经贸务实合作面临新的发展空间。中新都是多边贸易体制的坚定维护者，双方应继续加强沟通协作，共同反对贸易保护主义，为互利合作创造开放、包容、非歧视的环境。
In the new year, China–New Zealand economic and trade cooperation faces fresh opportunities for growth. Both China and New Zealand are staunch supporters of the multilateral trading system, and the two sides should continue to strengthen communication and coordination, jointly oppose trade protectionism, and foster an open, inclusive, and non-discriminatory environment for mutually beneficial cooperation.
在双边贸易持续繁荣的基础上，两国应深入挖掘绿色转型、数字经济、人工智能、基础设施等领域的合作潜力，以更加紧密的中新关系为两国各自发展带来更多的确定性和新的机遇，也为世界和平与繁荣做出贡献。
On top of the continually booming two-way trade, the two countries should further tap the potential for cooperation in areas such as the green transition, the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure, so that an even closer China–New Zealand relationship can bring greater certainty and new opportunities to the development of both countries, while also contributing to world peace and prosperity.
马年在中国寓意着力量、速度、活力与进取精神，也象征着两国人民对美好未来的憧憬与期待。中方始终把新方看作朋友和伙伴，愿同新方一道，落实好两国领导人达成的共识，巩固传统友谊，增进理解互信，推动两国关系在这个充满变化的时代取得新的更大发展，更好造福两国人民。
In Chinese culture, the Year of the Horse symbolizes strength, speed, vitality, and a spirit of endeavor, and it also reflects the shared aspirations and expectations of our two peoples for a better future.
China regards New Zealand as a friend and partner, and stands ready to work with New Zealand to implement the important consensus reached by our leaders, consolidate our traditional friendship, deepen mutual understanding and trust, and advance bilateral cooperation to greater heights in this era of profound change, so as to better benefit the peoples of both countries.
今天适逢大年初四，在中国传统习俗里人们今晚就准备迎财神了，在此祝愿大家马年生意兴隆、生活幸福安康！祝愿中新关系再上层楼！谢谢！
Today is the fourth day of the Chinese New Year. In traditional Chinese customs, people will tonight welcome the God of Fortune. I would thus like to wish everyone a prosperous Year of the Horse, with flourishing businesses and a happy, healthy life. And may China-New Zealand friendship go from strength to strength.
